Ohio Anthem Marketplace Product Excludes Cleveland Clinic and has VERY Limited Hospital Network

Anthem Blue Cross/ Blue Shield is known to have the most extensive hospital provider network in Ohio.  It has nearly every hospital and provider in every city.   In fact, it can be difficult to find a provider in Ohio who is not an In-Network provider of Anthem in Ohio. Here is a link to do a provider search.

However, this all-inclusive, extensive provider network will not be available to Ohioans who choose to enroll in the Obamacare marketplace exchanges after 10/1/2013.

In order to gain pricing concessions, Anthem has only contracted with one major hospital system in each of the top 7 Ohio Cities.

The ONLY Hospitals Included as In-Network in the Anthem Ohio Exchange Product are:

Cleveland  University Hospitals
Cincinnati Tri-Health
Columbus Mt Carmel
Akron/Canton Akron General
Dayton Kettering
Youngstown Valley
Toledo Pro Medica
Notably Absent from the Anthem Exchange Product, but included in Anthem Non-Exchange Product
Cleveland Clinic Foundation
Summa Health System
Ohio State University Hospitals
Riverside / Ohio Health Hospitals
Virtually all other Ohio Hospitals
Wondering how people are going to react to a smaller panel of doctors and hospitals….?
