Some promises are impossible to keep, even for the President of the United States. In this case, the President does not control who buys health insurance, who offers health insurance, and how or if insurance companies even offer the product. Further, the president can’t force an employer to stay in business nor can he force them to offer health insurance.
This is perhaps the biggest Presidential whopper ever. Its a wonder that no presidential candidate, member of congress or media member ever called him on it.
Below are the exceptions to the Presidential promise that are IMPOSSIBLE for ANY HUMAN on earth to deliver:
“If you like your plan, you can keep you plan……..”
–except when your employer changes your plan
–except when your employer cancels your plan
–except when your employer gets out of offering health insurance entirely
–except when your employer goes out of business
–except when your employer relocates to a state where that plan is not available
–except when your insurance company changes your plan
–except when your insurance company cancels your plan
–except when your insurance company gets out of offering health insurance
–except when your insurance company leaves your state
–except when your insurance company goes out of business
—except when you purchase a plan after 2010 that does not specifically meet our minimum standards
–except when Kathleen Sebelius and HHS says that your plan is not good enough
