I have tried every day for the last 61 days to get a quote from http://www.healthcare.gov Today, I decided to start from the very first step, and create a brand new account, with a new email address and a new password.
I put a timer on my progress, and after 1 hour and 8 minutes of answering question after question, I finally was looking at quote for my family that were 52% HIGHER than my current plan, for worse coverage.
Given that I am an Licensed Insurance Professional, I was able to quickly move from screen to screen. I also elected to NOT enter any OPTIONAL fields or questions. Even still, the process seemed VERY time consuming, and sometimes maddening.
Along the way, I was faced with several confusing messages and screens. Here are some of the screen shots.
This message was on my eligibility form, and it tells me that I cannot actually enroll until I prove that I, and my family, are all legal residents of the USA. Tells me to mail proof to the Marketplace.
All in all, it was a very long and cumbersome process. If I was not consumed with getting a quote, and enrollment information, I would have quit after about 15 minutes.
