After 106 days of attempting to purchase coverage, I finally got my statement from the insurance company. It came from the insurance company directly, and the premium amount matched the earlier premium amount that I thought I was purchasing.
However, it did not tell me what type of coverage i would receive, nor did it tell me who in my family was getting coverage. To get that, I would need to call the insurance company directly.
So I called the company, and YES, the plan and the people from my family covered were correct. The enrollment was now complete.
However, this plan is about 50% higher than my current plan….so I want to cancel it before I put it into effect.
I informed the insurance company rep that I wanted to cancel. She told me I would need to go to http://www.healthcare.gov in order to do so. Insurance companies cannot cancel directly.
